Kuhio Shores is about 15 miles south of Lihue Airport (LIH) which takes about 30 minutes to drive.

Are any Shopping Areas near Kuhio Shores?

The beautiful new, Shops at Kukui'ula are located half a mile from Kuhio Shores where you'll find over 30 shops and galleries plus a dozen or so restaurants and cafés. A couple of grocery stores, more stores, a bank, a post office, and several restaurants are located in Old Town Koloa. Poipu Shopping Village is also located nearby.

What Beaches are near Kuhio Shores?

The beach next to Kuhio Shores is known as Prince Kuhio Beach and also as Beach House Beach. It is often mistakenly referred to as "Lawai Beach" because it is just across the road from Lawai Beach Resort. However the resort was named after the real Lawai Beach which is located further down the road within Allerton Garden - National Tropical Botanical Gardens. Kiahuna Beach, Poipu Beach, and Brennecke Beach are all located less than 2 miles east of Kuhio Shores. Baby Beach is about a 5 minute walk west of Kuhio Shores.

What Restaurants are near Kuhio Shores?

The Beach House Restaurant is right next door to Kuhio Shores. It is fine dining and reservations are usually needed especially for the sunset views it is famous for. Many more restaurants are located in Old Town Koloa, at Kukui'ula and at the Poipu Shopping Village. Brennecke Beach Broiler and Casa di Amici are also popular choices. What Surfing Spots are near Kuhio Shores?

The surf break directly in front of Kuhio Shores is known as "PKs." During summer months, PKs is one of the most popular summer spots on the island but it is not for beginners. Even if you don't surf you'll enjoy watching local pros (of all ages) rip it up here. Beginners can find more forgiving waves at Kiahuna Beach. Surf shops in the area can rent you a board and set you up with lessons.

Many of the condos at Kuhio Shores have recently installed Air Conditioning. This is new at Kuhio Shores (starting in 2017). Although the building was built to take advantage of the ocean breezes, air-conditioning can be useful when the tradewinds aren't blowing and during summer months. Units are also equipped with ceiling fans and windows for cross ventilation.

Does Kuhio Shores have Laundry Facilities?

Laundry rooms with coin operated washers and dryers are located on each floor by the elevators. The hours of operation are 7:30 A.M. to 9:00 P.M. Vending machines are also available with packets of laundry products.

When is Whale Watching Season?

Humpback whales are usually in Hawaii's warm waters from December through April and can often be seen cruising along the shoreline in front of Kuhio Shores. Sea Turtles can be seen year round at Kuhio Shores.

Can I snorkel at Kuhio Shores?

The snorkeling in front of Kuhio Shores is famous for its abundance of honu, Hawaii's green sea turtles, which live there year round and feed upon the plants that grow along the rocks. They are not dangerous, but are protected. Please, do not touch, harass, or hunt them. Enter the water either at the bay to the east of Kuhio Shores, or from the beach to the west.

Will I need a Rental Car if I stay at Kuhio Shores?

Technically, it is not necessary to have a car to stay at Kuhio Shores because so much is within walking distance. Are Cooking Utensils provided at Kuhio Shores?

All vacation rental units at Kuhio Shores are offered ready to move in to with complete kitchens, cooking and eating utensils, pots & pans, etc. Linens, bedding, pillows, towels, etc. A starter supply of toilet paper and paper towels are also provided. Salt & pepper and some condiments are often available in the unit, but normal groceries are not provided.

Is there Maid Service at Kuhio Shores?

Daily Maid Service at Kuhio Shores is not included as part of the rental package. Units are professionally cleaned and ready for each new guest. An Outclean fee is added to the rental to pay for the cleaning when you check-out. Additional charges can be assessed if units are left particularly dirty or with damage.

Does Kuhio Shores have an On Site Manager?

Kuhio Shores does not have an On Site Manager. However a maintenance supervisor is on site most mornings and a night watchmen is normally on site in the evenings.

Does Kuhio Shores have Paid Parking?

One free parking spot is available per unit at Kuhio Shores. When you arrive you will be issued a free parking pass that must be displayed on your dashboard to park at the Kuhio Shores parking lot. If you arrive late at night, park in any designated parking spot and sign the guest book in the lobby. A parking pass will be delivered to your condo door in the morning to be used for the remainder of your stay.

Kuhio Shores has 2 elevators that can be accessed on the ground level in the lobby.

Is Kuhio Shores a Timeshare?

Kuhio Shores is not Timeshare. It is a fee simple, condominium complex and all units are individually owned. Many units are managed as vacation rentals either by professional management companies or managed directly by the owner.
